02 January 2015 – Supernova in The Superwind Galaxy NGC4666 in Virgo
A supernova, with a temporary name ASASSN-14lp, was discovered earlier in December 2014 and it has become the second brightest supernova of the year 2014 with a 11th magnitude. This Type la supernova is located in the spiral galaxy, Superwind galaxy, in Virgo that is approximately 80 million light years away from Earth. Total exposure time for the above LRGB image is 2 hours. See below image for the location of the supernova.
