A preview of a work-in-progress image of Rosette Nebula, also known as Caldwell 49, that I have been working on for months now. My attempts to acquire more than 30 hours worth of data were hampered by the Monsoon season and so, what you’re seeing here is a result of just 7 hours worth of imaging time. This is also my first attempt on narrowband imaging, taken with a CCD camera at 530mm focal length) and to process the acquired data using Hubble color palette, a result that is as scientifically valuable as it is pleasing to the eyes. Totally love the colors which would otherwise have been just red. I will work on this again once I’ve acquired more data and meanwhile, I hope you like what you see now 🙂
